Thanksgiving was just short of 2 weeks ago, I know I know, I’ve been a bit MIA lately. Sorry, the busy holiday season will sometimes do that…and so would a non-working keyboard for my iPad, eeek! BUT I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday whether that be with friends, family or co-workers. I mention co-workers specifically because I know many people have to work on Thanksgiving day/night and I want you to know that if that is you, I am always thinking of you all on Thanksgiving and thankful for your dedication to work and your sacrifice you take not being with friends or family during such a family and friend focused holiday. M has had to work Thanksgiving day for the last 4 years which is pretty common if you work in the health field but I just want to emphasize how grateful we are for all of you who take time away from friends/family to work…you do not go unnoticed! Always Give Thanks.
Speaking of Thanksgiving and M having to work, my immediate family decided to go out to eat to celebrate Thanksgiving the Sunday after. My parents wanted to take us all to Beatrix (which is one of my all time favorite restaurants! https://thedailyallis.com/top-10-chicago-restaurants/) and it was a great brunch. So thankful for my family and that we all make it a priority to get together so often.
The first weekend of November M and I went to our Friendsgiving with 4 other couples that we are pretty close with. All I have to say is the food was AMAZING. The picture below is of the turkey we had (our friend, Ben, made it and it was his first time making a turkey…pretty good huh?). Everything was amazing from secret family recipes to homemade mac and cheese and chocolate cream pie. Needless to say, I’m still dreaming about the food…and it’s 2 weeks later. AH! More pics below.
The third weekend of November (wow have I really been that bad at sticking with my blogging? Yikes) my parents hosted us children for an early Thanksgiving and they made a prime rib (pictured above). My parents always go the extra mile when they are entertaining (including cute themed napkins). Everything was so good, per usual, and I cannot write this post without feeling so blessed. I KNOW I KNOW, #blessed is so overused and made fun of now-a-days, buuuuuut I used it simply because I feel it! (insert girl shrugging her shoulders emoji). 🙂
Wanted to hop on here and wish everyone a Happy belated Thanksgiving and I hope you all enjoyed your day/weekend celebrating. Tell me, what are you most thankful for? How did you spend your holidays? I would love to hear from you! And remember, Give Thanks.
