Drunk Elephant review

Drunk Elephant review

It is no secret that I am a penny pincher. I like to only spend my money on things that I truly need or that I really want to try after doing extensive research. I know many of us follow Influencers on instagram and can get sucked into purchasing the product they are promoting. I’m not going to lie to you and say I haven’t been guilty of that. I 100% have bought the lip gloss that one Blogger or Influencer has sworn by or the metal tongue scraper that another Influencer said was on her “top 10 must haves.” I get it, it gets reeeeal when you’re in the “buying mood” and you’re scrolling through instagram. It happens.

But, with that being said, I truly try to rule out what is authentic or what is being strictly promoted. Have you ever watched instastories and you see one Influencer promoting a product and then you switch to another instagram story and a different Influencer is promoting the same product with the same discount code and then you move to another instastory and that blogger is promoting THE SAME EXACT THING with THE SAME EXACT DISCOUNT CODE?!?. Yeah, it’s annoying, obvious and truly shows that some of these Influencers are not authentic with their products they are promoting. It happens a lot, I get it, it’s a business too. I just try to just stick with the Influencers I have been following for years or seem more authentic.

One way around the authentic vs paid promoting products is to Research. Research. Research. The world wide web is such a beautiful thing. You can most likely find ANYTHING you want online. So, if an Influencer is promoting something that you think is more of a paid advertisement or not authentic, just google the product and read multiple reviews on different websites. It is all out there.

With that being said, I have not seen a lot of bloggers/influencers promote the “Drunk Elephant” brand. I read the reviews and listened to the ‘LikeToKnow. It’ podcast where they interviewed founder, Tiffany Masterson. The interview was intriguing and I wanted to try this product. After doing my research, I decided to try the “Drunk Elephant Littles.” Picture above.

The Drunk Elephant Littles are PERFECT for travel. I used the facewash for my Thailand, Iceland and NY travels and I loved it. They are the perfect sizes for travel and give you enough to truly test the product before purchasing the bigger bottles. The Littles I bought included the following:

  • 1 oz Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser
  • 0.27 oz B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum
  • 0.27 oz C-Firma Day Serum
  • 0.27 oz T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum
  • 0.27 oz Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil
  • 0.16 oz C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream
  • 0.5 oz Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense SPF 30
  • 0.5 oz Protini Polypeptide Cream

I received the above information from sephora.com. I also enjoy this product because it is cruelty-free and is great for different skin types. M and I both used these products while traveling and both really enjoyed them. M has more of an “oily” skin type while I have a “dry” skin type. My favorite products I used from the Littles above are the Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser (gentle cleanser on my sensitive skin, no scent or irritation after use), B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum (extremely hydrating, did not leave greasy or sticky feel on my face), C-Firma Day Serum (provides a slight glow on the face which I love and it was easy for me to put the moisturizer over this product without irritation) and the Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense SPF 30 (Although I prefer a 50 or more SPF for my face, this SPF was easy to rub into my face without leaving a residue or strong SPF smell).

Overall, I would give this product a 4 star rating out of 5 and will continue to purchase the products I enjoyed the most out of the “Littles” for my travels.

–Do you have a “go to” for skincare products when you travel? Have you been influenced by other bloggers/influencers in the past and truly loved the product? If so, which ones? Let me know!
